How To Reduce Prolonged Elbow Swelling Due To Injury?
I repeatedly bumped my elbow on the floor and not letting it heal , continuously skateboarding . It was bruised for a while but the bruising went away but the swelling is still there , I did not ice it , but it doesn't hurt , it's a squishy bubble on the top of my elbow and it's been 2 months now that the swelling hasn't gone down. Just a bit concerned , if you could help me out that would be great
This condition is called as olecranon bursitis. In this condition there is accumulation of fluid under elbow skin. I would suggest you to show to a orthopaedic surgeon and confirm this diagnosis. I would recommend following things to you. 1.Hot water fomenation 2. Aspiration of fluid from skin and steroid injection 3. Take Brufen tablet for pain relief. 4. Avoid any more bumping and it will be better if you apply compression bandage there.
