How To Reduce The Weight Gain After A Colon Re-sectioning?

I had a colon re-sectioning nearly 2 years ago. Since that time, severe constipation, weight gain, and loss of energy to exercise. I take a fiber supplement each night and drink 6 bottles of water during the day which has finally enabled me to have some daily bowel movement. However, I am not able to take off this extra 20+ pounds and my stomach still seems enlarged. Daily eating consists of yogurt, chicken/tuna, limited cheese, salads, fruits, and vegetables. I eat about 6 slices of bread weekly if I fix chicken/turkey sandwich. Any thoughts on what I can do to reduce the stomach size as well as increase my energy?

Hi and thank you so much for this query.

Symptoms of constipation, low energy and weight gain are suggestive of hypothyroidism. I will suggest that you follow up with your doctors and get evaluated for hypothyroidism. It would be weird and rarely for a person to rather have constipation after colon resection of which diarrhea is what is most commonly observed. If this is the case, proper treatment would be of great help in this light. Could you also state your height for future analyses as weight is always interpreted in relation to height?

I hope this helps. I wish you well.
