How To Reduce Weight And Fluid Retention?

Hi,I was detected having hypothyroidism since last 5 yrs. I am 30 yrs now and recently delivered a baby boy (10th feb 2011), via C-section. I was consuming Thyronorm (25mg) and maintaining my thyroid levels to normal till this date. Is it OK to consume this medicine while breast feeding? Also I hv put on lot of weight ( due to thyroid), have fluid retention in my body and hv lost hair in front of the head - which are the symptoms of thyroidism. As thyroid levels are normal, what should I do to reduce my weight, regain my hair and reduce fluid retention in body and should i continue with this medicine for ever????

Welcome to H C M.
In my opinion two options
1-Get your blood tested from a reliable lab.for
F T 3,F T 4,T S H h s & T P O Anti Bodies ,to confirm your diagnosis.if you really need Thyronorm continue it.
2- stop taking Thyronorm for 6-8 weeks get T S H (normal 0.40 to 4.6 ideal is 2.5 to 3 ) if it comes to normal , no need of medicine.
For weight change your life style.
For fluid retention ,check your B P ,reduce salt.
Be in touch with your doctor.
