General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It can be a swollen lymph node. The swollen lymph node arises due to infection somewhere in the nearby area like decayed teeth or ear infection.

A short course of antibiotics may be started empirically. If there is diagnostic confusion, an ultrasound scan may be required.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
