How To Treat Arthritis On The Fingers?

I have bad arthirits especially on my 3 fingers of both hands am currently taking Instaflex. I was told by a friend that her Rheumatoid Specialist informed her to try Omega 3 & CoQ10 supplements & told me all her inflamation & all pain is gone from her body. I am also taking Gluthione supplements but I am still in alot of pain taking muscle relaxers & pain med which I hate due to side effects?? Please give me your opionion??

I would suggest confirmation of diagnosis and nature of arthritis by a rheumatologist who may ask for x rays of hand, blood tests to find out the cause- as specific diagnosis may help in starting specific group of drugs indicated.I can understand your fears about side effects but disease specific drugs are very helpful and may give better relief.The supplements you mention may be taken alongwith the specific meds. but control of disease process is a must first,supplements hasten quicker recovery no-doubt.
commonly, it is osteoarthritis,in which case anti-inflammatory and physical therapy, hot fomentation will also help.Also ,depending on ones physical condition and health status many drugs may not produce side effects as one fears.For finger pains,muscle relaxants may not be necessary-simple Nsaids like diclofenac may serve the purpose
