How To Treat Constipation?

my mum 83 years old, is a renal patient and is on daily medication for this problem. For the past 5 days she is constipated and was today prescribed ganaton tablets itopride hcl by a gastroenterologist, not her normal doctor. Is it safe for an elderly renal patient to take ganaton tablets

I really appreciate your concern, the medicine Itopride (Ganaton) is given for gastric motility if the patient found on clinical examination that has the low motility then Ganaton can be given and it is the safe drug, if this is being indicated then it can be given least concern what is the age of patient, still you can discuss this with your patient hope this information helps.
