How To Treat Inflamed Bulging Disc?

I was in an accident last weekend and inflamed one of my bulging discs. I went to my chiropractor on Friday who made some adjustments and scheduled me for an appointment tomorrow. Yesterday, while helping my mother move a few bins I started having severe pain in my lower back where my bulging discs are located. I tried ice, a muscle relaxer, lying down, and nothing worked. This morning when I woke up the pain in my back had subsided, I have, however, been lightheaded all day. Is there a possibility I ruptured my disc?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I suggest to do an x-ray and probably a cat scan to confirm the ruptured disc.

Meanwhile, I suggest using anti-inflammatory medications such as Voltaren.

I also suggest using cool compresses in the area of the pain.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr.Dorina Gurabardhi, General &Family Physician
