How To Treat Swelling And Pain In Hand Due To A Injury Of Little Finger?

I few days ago I fell backward at work and either bent my pinky finger backward or outward as I was trying to catch myself. I had X-rays and they said there was no fracture. My hand is swollen and is in significant pain. My finger doesn t hurt. My hand hurts most at the mcp joint and about a half inch down the outside of my hand. What type of injury could be there?
