How To Treat The Swollen Part Caused By A Dog Bite?

I got a dog bite three weeks ago and freaked out and went to the ER the next day.
The ER doctor told me it looked ok giving the situation.
Three weeks later most of the bruising went away with a tiny scar but still swollen.
It the area still expected to be swollen?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Normally after 3 weeks, signs of inflammation such as swelling would have resolved unless there is lingering infection. Infection however would be associated with other signs and symptoms such as fever, increased warmth, tenderness, discharge.

After any trauma, fibroid or scar tissue would form at the site. It is possible that the swelling that are noticing is scar tissue especially if there are no other indicators of infection.

You can consider monitoring it.

I hope this helps
