How Will Regestrone Affect Pregnancy?

hi doc..me from delhi.due to some religious issue i have started taking regestrone 5mg twice a day from yesterday onwards and i want to continue till 2nd oct. nd i missed my perod which was on 20th sep and i don t know wthther i m pregnent or not..is it give any side effects to my health or...??

Regesterone is a hormonal preparation and must be taken in supervision of a clinician only. It can lead to some hormonal imbalance and the next periods may be delayed but the current period which was delayed by the pills should start in 3days time. If not so then you should consult a local doctor because this drug does not provide protection against pregnancy.
