Hyperthyroid Patient. On Medication, Under Control, Fluctuating For Hyper To Hypo. Test To Check Thyroid?

I was diagnosed with hyperthyroid several years ago and took medication for two years - now it is under control and I am off medication. However, I feel that it is now swinging between hyper and hypo because I sometime have symptoms of both. When I have it tested the doctor always says it is normal. Is there an accurate way to test my thyroid functioning. (I have multi-nodules).

Hi,
Thanks for query,
If your Thyroid test shows normal value then nothing to worry for your hypo or hyper stage.
However the weight gain is the most alarming symptom in hypothyroidism & weight loss is the most in Hyperthyroidism.By this you yourself decide to go for test & if it match with your stage then only take medication.
The increase of size of nodule is also one other way to watch.
Thanks.
