I Have Been Experiencing A Sharp Pain In My Clitoris And The Region Surrounding It. What It May Be ?
I have been experiencing a sharp pain in my clitoris and the region surrounding it. It gets worse whenever I urinate. I recently started applying an anti-fungal cream to it but the pain has not abated. Firstly, I would like to know the cause, secondly the treatment for it and finally, its prevention. N/B I am 35 years old and since I have not been sexually active, it may not be a STI. Thank you.
Hi
Welcome to HealthcareMagic
Pain in clitoral region is due to infection which may be associated with urinary tract infection. It may not be STI. It may be due to poor hygiene during periods, tight underclothing etc.. i suggest you to see a doctor for an examination , as you may need a dose of antibiotics and local application as well , make sure you drink enough amount of water and do not irritate the mucosa , avoid soaps over the area and wear loose cotton under garments . Also get yourself tested for blood sugar to rule out diabetes. Take care.
