I Have Extremely Painful Blister Under My Toe Nail. How To Prevent This From Happening In Future ?

I am 26 5ft 2 and 10 stone. i was running last night and when i go in i noticed a kind of blister forming under my toe nail. it seems to have come away from the nail bed and is extreamly painful. what advice can you give and how can i stop this from happening in the future. I was running down hill when it happened? thank you

i think this is kind of boil which is caused by some injury or may be because of nails or shoes. watch the shoes you wear is comfertable... also clean your nail bed and corner regularly.

Dear Katie,

The blister in the nail bed must have pushed up the nail, and the pain may be due to the pressure on the blister. Consult a doctor immediately and if necessary the nail may have to be removed. In future take care to wear properly fitting footwear.
