Infant Effected By Malaria, Dosage Completed, Temperature High. Can I Give Meftal P Now?

Hi Doctor My son who is 23month old was effected by Malaria . His dosage for malaria has been completed but still his temparature seems to be high (103 F). We gave him Acetaminophen 2 hours ago. As the temparature seems increasing can we give him Meftal P now? Please let me know if there would be any issues if we give him the two different drugs within 2 hours.

Hello
Thanks for writing to HCM

At present you should try other methods like sponging.
If it doesn't come down then you can give Meftal P according to the weight of baby after two hours from now, means four hour interval from earlier dose.
There is no harm in giving and meftal P is very effective drug.

Take Care
