Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Infant Had Vaccinations On Thurs, Fever, Running Nose, Vomited. What Should Be Done?
12 month old just had her vaccinations on thurs, been running fever up to 101 for third day now. Using tylenol and advil alternately, but it keeps coming back. Has runny nose now, also. Is breastfed and that s all she wants. Has also vomited a few times. Very unhappy overall. Continue as is, or do/give something different?
You have not mentioned which vaccination was given. To the best of my knowledge there is no vaccine which is given at 12 month which causes fever unless your daughter was late in receiving her triple shots.
The fever and running nose could be because of viral infection which shall take its own course. You may add some decongestant syrup.
I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.
Hi,
Thank you for your query,
I think your child has been given Hepatitis A first dose vaccination.
But fever after this vaccination is unusual for thress days.
As the child is having running nose also it could be due to a viral fever.
Continue Tylenol for fever as prescribed.
If there is high grade fever do tepid sponging with lukewarm water.
Consult your Pediatrician for examination and specific treatment for cold and the infection.
Hope I have answered your query.
