Hi dear, thanks for your question at HCM Your nephew had typhoid fever few weeks back, treated and cured. But child again getting fever and cough - typhoid fever is unlikely. Child having fever and cough can be viral or bacterial infection. Since you have not mentioned the duration of fever and cough, its difficult to comment fully on the treatment options. But if there is chest congestion or fever of 4-5 duration, then antibiotics is indicated. For fever its better to used plain paracteamol like crocin or calpol suspension and sponge bath with lukewarm water from head to toe for about 15 to 20 min which is likely to bring down his temp. hope this answers your question
