Infant With Fever, Cold And Cough, Advised Medicines And Nebulizer. Any Home Remedies Or Alternatives To Nebulizer?

Hi Doctor, My baby is nearing to 1 year and suffering from fever, cold (running nose ) and cough . We saw pediatrician and suggested us to use Moxikind, Ascoril, Calpol125, and Nasal drops. Also suggested to use nebulizer with levolin0.63mg if cold and cough persist after two days. Is the use of nebulizer must? Any home remedies / alternatives to nebulizer?

Hi Vikram,
Thank you for your query,
As your child is having the symptoms of upper respiratory tract infection and your child have been examined by your Pediatrician, continue those medication as per your doctor.
Some times bronchidilator nebulization is required in associated narrowing of small respiratory airways to relieve the cough. Alternative to nebulizer is inhaler which can be used with spacer with mask and requires the mechanism and the method of use.
As a home remedy you can give steam inhalation to relive cold or you can apply vaporized inhalants like carvol plus on pillows where child will sleep.
