Infant With Loose Stools Due To Milk Intake. What To Do?
hi, my 7 month old baby girl was suffering from loose motion. sometimes she had watery motion and sometimes of mixed consistency. we had consulted doctor, he gave her antibiotics and advised not to give milk, and give her only banana, curd, and rice ganji. she passed proper stool two days before, so i gave her milk also and she started loose motion again.. what i should do? how long i cann't give her milk
In case of diarrhea in babies it is important to rehydrate with gatorade, pedialyte or ORS-L. Also it is important to give then nutritious and thick food. Milk may be given in moderate amounts. 800 ml a day of milk is enough for 8 month old. Avoid fruit juices and sugary treats during diarrhea. To avoid recurrent diarrhea, give her hygienic food and clean drinking water.
Antibiotics are better avoided unless the diarrhea is severe, persistent or there is blood in stools.
