Inside Of Vagina Is Itchy, Swollen And Red. Painful. What To Do?
i am 16, a virgin, and recently the inside of my outer vagina lips had become very itchy, i may have even itched it without noticing, but today I woke up to find my right outer lip extremely swollen and red. It is painful to touch and has recently become itchy (which I am trying hard not to do as I fear that may make it worse). I am very embarrassed, too much so to talk to my mum or a doctor about it. Will it go away on its own, or is there anything I could take for it? thankyou :)
It is possible that you may have a yeast infection, this can occur in women even if not sexually active. Vaginal itching can also occur due to irritation from chemicals such as soaps, detergents, creams.
The swelling would have occurred because of the inflammatory response associated with infection or irritation.
You can consider using an over the counter cream for vaginal yeast infection such as nizoral, canesten, monstat, vagistat. The use of a sitz bath with some baking soda may also help relieve some of your symptoms. This can be done at least twice a day for a few days.
I hope this helps
