Intense Burning Sensation In Left Leg, Tingling And Numb. Ran 5 Miles 2 Weeks Back. Suggestions?

Hello Dr. Samuel,

I am currently experiencing an intense burning sensation on my lower left leg. It does not hurt but it does bother me a lot. Prior to the burning sensation, the leg was tingling and numb, and just when I thought it was going away, it just transitioned to a burning sensation. Two weeks before all the symptoms began, I ran 5 miles around the nearby lake which is something I haven't done for a while probably like a year ago. I have no medical history of any sort besides the common cold. What could this be doctor?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The burning sensation, numbness and tingling is likely to be due to a mild disc degeneration causing a nerve root compression at the level of lumbar spine. Taking methylcobalamin supplements will help you.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
