Intense Burning, Visible Blood In Urine. Taking Cipro. Any Ideas?
Hi, three weeks ago I had visible blood in my urine and intense burning. My doctor gave me 500 mgs. Cipro for five days. I went back for a follow up urine sample and was told that I has microscopic blood in my urine and that I had that before during my regular physical, which I was unaware of. I have an appointment with a urologist next week. I am petrified that this may be a serious condition.
Hello Thanks for your query.Based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you had macroscopic hematuria 3 weeks ago which got cured with antibiotics. Your recent urine analysis has revealed microscopic hematuria . This is likely to be due to dormant infection. However it has to be investigated thoroughly to rule out any major pathology in urinary system. Please go ahead as per your appointment with urologist for proper evaluation. Dr.Patil.
