Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi Dear

Welcome to the HCM,

Fever should respond within 3 to 7 days of starting the properly recommended dose of antibiotic.

If fever is not responding with two weeks course of antibiotic then child to be re investigated for concomitant additional pathology or the drug used is not effective for the typhoid. In such cases blood culture is quite important to get the exact required antibiotic.

Hope the query is answered.

thanks
