Is A Second Shot Of Rabies Vaccination Is Required For An Animal Bite And Can I Delay Taking It Since I Don't Need Globulin?

Hi
I got the rabies vaccine because I do a lot of international traveling. I was wondering though, if I got bite by a suspicious animal am I immune because of the vaccine or do I need to get the 2 follow up vaccine shots. If I need to get the two follow up shots, how quickly do I need to respond since I have had the 3 shot series of the rabies vaccine? A nurse told me I would have more time to get to a doctor since I don't need the globulin, is that true?

Thank you, Christina
