Is Bruised Purple Neck And Fluctuating BP While Being On HTCZ Lisinopril For High BP Normal?

Hi, I started taking HTCZ 25/Lisinopril 20 mg 4 days ago to treat high blood pressure. My pressure is fine at home but when I go to the doctor it skyrockets form 140/85 at home to 190/110 at doctors office. I have noticed that my neck is turning dark purple like it is bruised mainly in the front and sides. Is this normal?

I a s sorry to hear about this high skyrocketing blood pressure in the doctor's office and your neck turning purple. When you go to the hospital, please keep your calm. What you just described is white coat hypertension where persons become so anxious in a hospital milieu and get their numbers up. It would be best to monitor your blood pressure out of the hospital and treated using those numbers because the hospital stresses you out and you leave behind false numbers.

HCTZ causes sunburn. This is the most likely reason why you are having the neck changes. I will advise that you drink enough water and avoid spending much time in the sun.
