Is Burning And Redness After Insertion Of Monistat Normal?

I was on antibiotics and developed a yeast infection which usually happens to me. Last night I inserted Monistat 1 ovule and it burned and itched like crazy. Now the itching has stopped but I am very red and still burns. Should I wait it out another day or go see my physician?

I would suggest you to see your physician and get the lesions examined. It has to be ascertained whether it is due to allergy to Monistat (miconazole) or due to severe fungal infections. If it were to be allergic, changing over to other antifungals like clotrimazole might be considered. Hope the above information helps you. Thanks.
