hi Doctor, I am 49 yrs old having fibroids in the uterus and presently on Mirena for excessive bleeding. I am a spinster I feel extremely dry in the insides which is very uncomfortable at times. Can i apply coconut oil in those ares to ease the discomfort.
Coconut oil although is a good moisturiser and prevents extreme dryness, is not advisable to be used in your private areas. Coconut oil can alter your vaginal pH and increase the risk of fungal infections. Kindly avoid coconut oil use. I would suggest you to use vaginal moisturiser or lubricants which can reduce the dryness and discomfort in your vagina.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
