Is Frequent Passing Of Stools Common In Patients With An Infected Urethra?

Hi I was diagnosed with an infected urethra on Sunday May 4th. I have been on the medicine since then and it still hurts. Sometimes it is still hard to pee. I am peeing more frequently than normal. Is that normal to happen? I also was wondering can I masterbate? I haven t since the pain started which was like April 30th. I ve been afraid to because I don t want to damage my urethra anymore than I already have and I was just wondering.

Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thank you for your query. I am Dr. Rommstein, I understand your concerns and I will try to help you as much as I can.

Yes, this is common since urethra infection will cause rectal irritation and this will lead to frequent or loose stools. So you should not worry. also, antibiotics may cause such asymptoms as well. It should improve after infection is healed.
I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us in every time.
Kindly regards. Wish you a good health.
