Is It Advisable To Go On HCG Diet After Having A Myomectomy To Remove Several Large Fibroids?
I recently had a myomectomy to remove several large fibroids. I plan on becoming pregnant this year, but wanted to loose weight to get on a healthy track, especially at the age of 45. I have utilized the HCG diet before to loose significant weight, unfortunately the surgery and recovery process took a toll on my health and I gained 30 lbs. back due to limited physical activity. I would like to go back on the HCG diet to shed the 30 lbs., but am concerned about the negative impact it may have on the small coin sized fibroids that were not removed. Does HCG cause fibroids to grow and or develop? I was planning to be on the treatment for 8 weeks.
HCG should not cause the fibroids to grow. It is highly controversial whether or not HCG works for weight loss, so you should do it only under the advice of your physician. However, you are clearly on the right track for trying to lose weight before you get pregnant, as this will increase your chances to conceive, and increase the chances of a healthy pregnancy once you do conceive. Diet and exercise are definitely the right path, so keep up the good work! I hope this answers your questions, please let me know if you have any more questions.
