Is It Normal For A Pregnant Lady To Have Lower Abdominal Ache And Diarrhea After The Intake Of Tardyferon B9?

hi i am almost 18 weeks pregnant had a scan last eek everything seemed fine and we found out it was a little boy the doctor gave me some tablets called tardyferon b9 to take one each day and for the past few days i have been suffering from a dull ache on my lower abdomen and also had dark greenish stools but today it turned to diareah wwhich is black is this normal

Thanks for the query.
Tardyferon b9 contains ferrous sulphate and folic acid.
These are essential elements for the growth of the fetus.
Iron supplements can change the color of the stools.
And also they can lead to gastrointestinal disturbances sometimes.
But usually they will subside soon without need of medication.
And as such they are not harmful for the baby.
If your gastrointestinal disturbances persist, you can shift to some other brand of iron supplements.
Along with that taking nutritious diet involving iron rich food is important.
