Is It Normal To Have Protein +1 In Urine Test?

Hi, I am 16 weeks pregnant and have very cloudy urine sometimes with white particles in it, I also feel I need to wee often but its only tiny bit when I do go, I feel uncomfortable a lot as I feel my bladder is full when it isnt. The doctors tested for infection a couple of days ago but it was clear. the midwifes also did a routine urine test 2 week ago and it showed protien +1 and ketones +1 but my blood preasure was low. Any ideas what could be causing this or it just a normal pregnancy symptom. Thanks for youe help rachael

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It sounds like all the potential diseases associated with proteinuria in pregnancy are ruled out. I would just wait and see for a few weeks; preferably till after the delivery, and then repeat the analysis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Anders Mark Christensen, General Surgeon
