Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here...my daughter was missing protein in the urine, performed several tests of urine was found to lose protein. To search for the cause urine tests were repeated in 12 hours and urine collected in the morning upon waking and in the afternoon after school. The result: lost to agree not to protein, gave the afternoon a small loss. The conclusion that this loss of protein is normal it is a structural proteinuria.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. I think that your daughter is having orthostatic proteinuria. It is a condition when protein is found in urine only when standing up during day and at night kidneys dot let proteine pass in urine. The kidneys dont have any damage. It will go away by itself as child grows. There is not a known cause for it. Your doctor has diagnosed it correctly taking two different urine analysis one in morning and one in afternoon. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
