Is It Okay If Ultrasound Shows Fibroid And Gall Bladder Polyps?
Hi, I am a woman 66 years old and got my Ultrasound tests:Below is what my report says. Can you please determine if everything is okay? Thanks REAL TIME PELVIS ULTRASOUND REPORT
Anatomically normal urinary bladder.
Anteverted uterus measuring 7.2 x 4.8 x 3.2 cms. A subcentimeter sized posterior wall fibroid is noted. The endometrial thickness is 3-4 mm.
Both the ovaries are well visualized and appear normal.
The right ovary measures 2.0 x 1.8 cms.
The left ovary measures 2.4 x 1.6 cms.
No evidence of any ovarian or adenexal mass noted.
Conclusion Gall bladder polyps. Bilateral renal cysts. Small umbilical hernia.
Polyps in the gallbladder are common and very rarely develop into cancer. IF they are less than 1cm and not associated with symptoms, your doctor would likely consider only monitoring with ultrasound.
In terms of the fibroid ,these are non cancerous growths from the muscle layer of the uterus. They mainly present a problem in younger women where they would be associated with heavy painful periods.
In terms of the cysts in the kidneys, it is very common , after the age of 50 for individuals to have simple kidney cysts.
I hope this helps
