This morning I woke up and there was a sharp pain in the center of my chest, a little to the left which is where your heart is. I'm 14, is it possible I have heartburn? Are you born with heartburn, or can you get it later on in life? Websites would be helpful! Thanks. :)
I read about heart spasms, and it said there is a sharp pain usually in the upper left part of your heart, which is where the pain was.
Heartburn is from acid reflux. Acid from the stomach that goes up the esophagus and burns and causes chest discomfort. You are not born with it. It can happen at any age. Heartburn is unlikely first thing in the morning being that is typically triggered by something you eat causing the acid. Your pain is most likely chest wall pain from an injury or abrupt movement, muscle pain.
