Is It Safe To Give Tylenol 5 Ml For Toddler?

Hi. I was checking to make sure I did not give my toddler an unsafe dose of tylenol. My husband mistakenly gave our son 5 mL of infant tylenol, thinking it was the type that was 160 mg acetaminophen per 5 mL dosage. Instead, it was the concentrated infant tylenol, which is 80 mg acetaminophen per 1.0 mL dosage. So, basically, he gave our 28 lb toddler 400 mg (5 mL, 80 mg per mL). I called poison control, who told me that because we hadn't given him any other tylenol all day (his last dose was 7 pm last night, and we gave him this dose at 7 pm tonight) we didn't need to worry. Is this correct?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hello,
Welcome to health care magic
Tylenol contains acetaminophen which is given to reduce fever.Dose of tylenol is 10-15mg/kg/dose..So for ur 14 kg child it will work out to 140-210mg.But maximum daily dose is 60mg/kg ..I.e 1440mg for your child. So don't worry.Same time don't repeat for next 18 hours..And don't do this mistake again.
Regards
