Is Itching All Over Body A Sign Of Renal Failure?

I am a diabetic that isn t in control of my blood sugars. The last two weeks I began to itch all over. I used Benadryl, and over the counter remedies, but the itch is still persistant. I have no signs of a rash. I just itch all over very bad. Is it a sign that I may be in renal failure?

Diabetologist 's  Response
Dear sir

Itching generalized all over the body is indeed a sign of renal failure.

Increased serum creatinine is always a risk for itching and pruritis.

Thanks
