Is Low Libido Common During Pregnancy?

I am on methadone and at 117 MG and I have had very to no sex drive for some time now. It s starting to hurt my relationship. He likes to have sex every night and I would rather go to bed. Sometimes I am just too tired. I have a 3 year old son and i am also pregnant would that have anything to do with it?

Psychiatrist 's  Response
HI,
THANKS FOR USING HEALTHCARE MAGIC.
THE SEXUAL DESIRE DURING PREGNANCY VARIES FROM INDIVIDUAL TO INDIVIDUAL AND ALSO WITH THE DIFFERENT TRIMESTERS OF PREGNANCY. NORMALLY THE THE DESIRE INCREASES IN THE SECOND TRIMESTER DUE TO HORMONAL CHANGES AND INCREASED BLOOD SUPPLY TO THE GENITALS.
THERE IS ADEQUATE EVIDENCE SHOWING THAT METHADONE (OPIOID SUBSTITUTION THERAPY) IN LONG TURN CAN CAUSE SEXUAL DYSFUNCTION. ALL THE DOMAINS OF SEXUAL FUNCTION INCLUDING THE SEXUAL DESIRE WILL BE AFFECTED WITH METHADONE.
HOPE I HAVE ANSWERED YOUR QUERY
THANKS
