Is Persulfate A Sulfa Drug As I Am Allergic To It?

Hello, I just had teeth extracted and was fitted with a denture. My dentist gave an Intro to Dentures kit which includes cleaner, adhesive, etc. The cleaner says it contains persulfate a known allergen . Is this a sulfa drug. I have been allergic to sulfa compounds since I was a child. (I m 61 now)

Hello,

Although Persulfate contains sulfar which may cause an allergic reaction this is different from the Sulfa drug allergy which contains sulfonamides. That is why Sulfa drug allergy has no connection to Persulfate allergy.
