Is Presence Of Protein In Urine Normal For A Child?
My child who is 3 and a half years old is having Protein+ in her urine analysis, 0-1 Ephithelial cells and 3-5 Puss cells. Is is ok for a girl of her age to have these results? She is perfectly ok. She has no problem in urination. The urine analysis was done to see if protein is present still in the urine as she had protien present in her urine 3 months back when she had urine infection. Kindly send me a reply.
Usually, protein should not be present at this age.
The presence of protein could be due to urinary infection or some inflammation as well.
Urine culture should be done for further workup as there is a history of UTI.
Kindly let me know whether your child has any edema over leg or face, fever etc. Like complaint or not.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
