You have not mentioned what type hernia is there, I could guess that this must be inguinal hernia, if this is true then I would say that severity of defect is matter here, if this is asymptomatic and does not cause any pain on and often then You can go for coitus, but care need to be taken, in severe case this is not advisable, take care.
