I have noted your symptoms, medications and diagnosis.
Epilepsy is a chronic disease, and it needs medicines for a long period of time, for adequate
seizure control.
Valparin chrono (
sodium valproate) is a good anti-epileptic medicine and is reasonably safe.
Regarding
smoking, there is no direct interference with epilepsy or the medication, but is generally un-healthy, and is a risk factor for cancer,
stroke and heart attacks.
Alcohol, if taken occasionally, in small amounts may be alright.
