Is Temporal Arteritis Genetic?

I THINK I HAVE TEMPORAL ARTERITIS.... IS IT INHERITED ? I AM 74 YR. OLD AND MY MOTHER HAD IT WHEN SHE WAS IN HER 70 S.... I HAD A CATSCAN AT ER AND BLOOD WORK.. ALL WITH IN NORMAL RANGES.... NEXT I WILL HAVE AN EYE SPECIALIST LOOK AT MY EYES... TO EVALUATE THEM... TO SEE IF MY SHORT ANGLE HOLES FOR GLACOMA HAVE CLOSED OVER THE LAST TEN YR.. ? THANK YOU ... NEVER MIND AN ANSWER.... I DIDN T REALIZE IT WAS COSTING.... SORRY TO HAVE BOTHERED YOU !

From your description it is not clear that what symptoms you have.
Do you feel the flu symptoms such as fatigue, loss of appetite, and fever?

Symptoms specifically related to the inflamed arteries of the head include headaches, pain and tenderness over the temples, double vision or visual loss, dizziness or problems with coordination, and balance. Pain may also affect the jaw and tongue, especially when eating, and opening the mouth wide may become difficulties.
