Is There Any Chance Of Closing The VSD Without Surgery?

Hi, My new born baby boy(born with 3.3kgs) had heart murmurs at day 15 and have to go for 2D Echo when he finished 2 months. The report is like below: Moderate Perimembronous VSD covered by septal aneurysm, LA/LV Dilated, Doming Pulmonary Valve/ Mild PS, Mild PAH, Good Biventricular Function. His weight during the 2d Echo was 5.1Kgs and HR is 132. PediatricCordialogist advised to visit after 2months and asked to take Feroped 0.5ml and Aldactone(1/4th in 3ml, 2ml dose). Now he is 2months2weeks old and his weight is 5.4kgs. Can you please tell me if there are chances of closing the VSD without surgery? Thanks a ton.

Hi
Thanks for writing to healthcare magic.
VSD can close by itself
But only repeated followups and ECHO will tell if it has closed
Wishing your child speedy recovery
Regards
Dr Arun
