Is There Any Problem For Swallowing Hair?

My 9 month old swallowed a hair barrette and i am afraid s going to be stuck somewhere in her or cause problems in her. My Dr said to give her a few days to poop it out, but if there is any constipation(which my daughter has had since birth so that wont help me any) or vomitting or abdominal pain then to bring her in! Is this something to be really concerned with or should it pass through her easily????

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,
Thank you for asking question on health care magic.
If the amount of hair swallowed is less it will come out easily in the stool.
If it is more it may form a form a ball (Trichobezoar) and may cause intestinal obstruction.
Better be in touch with your doctor.
Hope this answer will serve your purpose
Please feel free to ask any more queries if required
Take care
