Is Vomiting Common After Taking Dulcolax And Magnesium Citrate?
Hi, my fiance has a colonoscopy and endoscopy scheduled for tomorrow at 7am. She was diagnosed with colitis and they re trying to determine the cause. Shes lost almost 50 lbs in 2 months because she cant keep anything in. We re in the middle of doing the prep. She took a dulcolax and then drank the magnesium citrate and then on her first glass of miralax/Gatorade she started having serious pain and wanting to vomit. She s now thrown up twice, both times a lime green liquid, and both times rather large amounts. I spoke to an on call doctor over the phone, who suggested we simply take it more slowly to see how her body reacts. But I m concerned that we re exacerbating whatever her illness is by filling her body with these laxatives. I m at a loss as to how best to proceed
Do not take any type of laxative: if you have signs of inflamed bowel (such as stomach or lower abdominal pain, cramping, bloating, soreness, nausea, or vomiting). Instead, check with your doctor as soon as possible.
