Itching Between Buttocks. Treating With Anti Itch Cream. No Relief. Suggestions?
Hi, The region between the butt cheeks has been itchy for a few days. I got a anti-itch cream to treat it with that did reduce the itchiness substantially. I was using the bathroom and noticed that it was very mildly sore. I looked and there is a light red line above the anus about an 2 inches long. Should I be concerned? Should I keep treating with an anti-itch cream containing hydrocortisone? It still itches some, but I have only treated with the cream twice.

You might have developed fungal infection.
The buttock area is very moist and is prone to develop these infections.
Treatment can be with oral antifungals as well as with topical antifungals.
Various antifungal powders like candid are availabe.
These can help reduce the moisture as well as control the infection.
Please dont use hydrocortisone, it is a steroid and can worsen your condition
Please meet a dermatologist for exact diagnosis.
