My fatherr had a fall that enjured his knee in the process though theres no obvoius signs of fracture, has some lacerations on the skin, that now appears to have pus.but very superficial.his bruise has been big that turns black all over his knee over a period of 4 days now, also swollen badly, he is diabetic and h1c was quite high as per last blood test.concern whether to take him to emergency due to weekend or wait till monday for his primary doctor.note that we are now out of state for a vacation, since he thought it is just a bruise.please advise .thank u.
Hello, Since your father is suffering from severe uncontrolled diabetes and the wound has started showing pus, then it becomes very urgent for you to take him to the ER to get the wound cleaned and dressed properly. He would be requiring proper medications, may be even injectable insulin,to control his blood sugar levels and proper antibiotic therapy to contain the spread of pus and infection. Wait till Monday can prove to be dangerous. Thanks
