General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi & Welcome.
Cyclosporin is an immunosuppressive or cytotoxic medication used to treat autoimmune diseases, to prevent graft versus host disease in patients who undergone kidney transplantation.

Its most common side effects include nephrotoxicity (kidney damage), hypertension, hyperkalemia, hyperglycemia, hyperlipidemia, liver dysfunction, hirsutism & seizures.

Other drugs in this category include Methotrexate or Azathioprine which can also be considered for the treatment of uveitis if you do not get response from oral steroids or steroids used in the form of eye drops.

Hope this answers your query.

Best wishes.
