My 2 Months Old Baby Having Sever Cold And Sleepy
my baby is 2 months old , having severe cold, my paediatrician prescribed some medicines , cold is not coming down and baby became very sleepy..can any paediatrician help me plz.. cold medicines

hello dear,
in any of cold cough syrup or medicines there is a sedative effect and apart from that in all the cold complains sedation comes as a concomitant symptoms so nothing to worry about the sedation at all or drowsiness or sleepiness at all
why dont you try homeopathic medicines which is very safe and effective and without any sedative effect or without any other side effects and easily administer to any age of babies
aconite and rhus tox 30 2dram each 2-2-2-2-2 for your baby will cover up her cold in 3-4 days only
just start this and give b.c. no 5 as a regular tonic to prevent any further cold to her

Normally cold is viral infection and has a limited course and so the medicines prescribed are commonly just anti histaminics and if fever some antipyretic.Since your baby has been examined by a paediatrician and he has prescribed medicine you can wait for a day or two.And the sleepiness of your baby may be due to the medicines as almost all medicines for cold cause sleepiness in children as well as adults.Please reconsult your paediatrician to reduce the dose and repeat examination.The cold should settle in next 2 days.
