Need Medication For Sore Throat, swollen Glands, running Nose

My three year old has a sore throat, and swollen glands and a runny nose (also has seasonal allergies). The throat pain is primarily in the morning and when she eats / drinks foods that are more acidic. Her temperature is normal. Should I take her in for a rapid strep test? Is there a way to ease her pain?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,
Thank you for asking question on health care magic.
Your history suggests that she is suffering from nasopharyngitis.
You may use ibuprofen for temporary relief from pain.
An antibiotic like Amoxyclav may be given 2 times daily for 3 days emperically.
If no improvement you should consult pediatrician for thorough clinical examination and throat swab culture.
Hope this answer will serve your purpose
Please feel free to ask any more queries if required
Take care
