Noticed A Bump On Left Side Above Collar Bone

I got the flu shot about a week ago, now I have a bump on my left side just about my collar bone. Yesterday it was pretty swollen and today its not bad. It is tender and I have been thinking about going to get it checked out but I don t want to if it isn t a big deal! Any suggestions of what it might be and what I should do?

Hello,
Thanks for your query.
The lump just above the collar bone is probably a lymph node. The lymph node could have increased in its size due to infection. Usually such lymph node return to their normal size in a couple of weeks.
If they remain or increase in size even after two weeks the cause of it has to be investigated. You will be prescribed a course of antibiotics following which lymph nodes will decrease in its size.
I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query.
Take care
